Well yeah, you'd have to be an idiot not to realize there was Jesus symbolism going on there. Particularly when they were dragging him out of the water and he had his arms spread out. At that point they may as well have had a caption on the bottom of the screen saying "Look! Sayid is like Jesus!"

The question, as with any kind of symbolism, is what, if anything, does it mean? Was it simply to foreshadow that Sayid would not be dead come the end of the episode? Was he ever really dead anyway (Miles seemed unable to contact him)? iIs there something more going on here? Will Sayid literally become Jesus (unlikely)?

I can't say it's a theory I came up with on my own (I did not) but, a lot of people think that Jacob may now be inhabiting the body of Sayid to some extent. Not sure how that would play into the Jesus stuff, but that's what a decent amount of people think. All we can do is wait.
Regarding your comment of drowning Sayid...wasn't that obviously Jesus? When they carried him in he looked like Jesus. It seemed like a baptism to me (I'm jewish, but it seemed like one), and then when they carried him out of the water he was Jesus on the cross. Then he woke up at the end of the episode. Also, his bullet wound is right where Jesus' spear wound is in the painting of "Doubting Thomas". Just a thought.

Pat - terrific site. The deals and the free shipping could end up leading to whatever purchase I make being from newegg.com. I briefly looked up the mini cam and it might be a little too far out of the price range. But if there are not other suggestions I might just go for it. Jeff claims I can't buy a digital camera for $65. Since I never purchase anything for myself other than DVD's and video games, I have no idea what shit costs. Is he correct?
Check out newegg.com, they have good electronic stuff for good prices. I would suggest that if you're willing to spend a little more money, go for the Flip Minicamcorder. It's really small, can take pretty good quality video and can take pictures too if I'm not mistaken. The video wouldn't be amazing quality, but it would get the job done. Newegg also usually does weekly deals and free shipping. It's where I get all my electronic stuff.

Hey Craig,

I don't know if you read the comments section, but I think I can help you out with two of your questions. First, I saw Avatar and, like yourself, I was admittedly a skeptic going into it. However, I thought it was very good. Now, I know this is useless to you because you've already seen it, but I thought you might like some insight. I know as a fellow human you may be somewhat insecure about your beliefs and you may be reassured if your opinion matched up with mine (or you may be reassured that I am stupid, thus promoting your own self confidence. Either way, this is prob good for you).

Second, I've seen those Levis commercials. Are they good? Are they bad? I don't know. But they certainly are strange. Whatever they are, Levis got us talking about their product. And the funny thing about it: I bought 2 pairs of fucking levis jeans a month ago! Was it because of the commercial? I don't know. The commercial gives me a weird "American History X" vibe, but at the same time it attempts to capture a whole American liberty thing. I don't know if it works, but the fact that I know that Levis wants to be associated with freedom may appeal to me. I don't know, it's a weird commercial.

Nice. I think I only saw SC play once this year so I can't say I'm familiar with Garcia, but in a few weeks I'll either be joining you in utter hatred of him or he'll be my favorite QB in the world for a few hours.
